Donna Hay Macarons

Macarons? Macaroons? Who knows, but they’re delicious!

I baked these with a friend the other week. We were terribly lazy and just used a packet mix (Vanilla Almond with Chocolate Ganache), but I think I could now attempt them from scratch. I was reading somewhere else on the internet, that people shouldn’t be so intimidated at baking them. It’s whipping egg whites, which I can do for other recipes. It’s piping circles, which I can do for other recipes. And then baking meringue, and making frosting. I can do all of them. It’s just whether I can do them all successfully for one recipe.

Maybe I’ll disagree with this once I have started from scratch. You’ll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, this is how they turned out.

Next time… Nutella macarons. I’m pretty excited.
